News Blast: Alexander McQueen (1969-2010)

My blog isn't about fashion at all. But when sometimes, heartbreaking things happen, we have to allow ourselves go off-topic.

I don't know much about fashion and it's own industry, but I knew Alexander McQueen. I knew his greatness and his prodigiousness and I knew who he worked for. It was his extravagance that caractherized many artists like Lady Gaga and Bjork.

When such personality defines a role of artists, it is my duty and my call to remember him. He worked not only with the artists I've previously mentioned, but also with others, including David Bowie and Rihanna.

He's death as caused a hole in our hearts, in the music and in the fashion industry and also in our society.

May you, dear Sir, rest in peace.

News Blast: Beyoncé's Show Ends With Gun Fight

Two days ago, at Beyoncé's last show in Brazil, a gun fight was held after police and a street gang opened fire on each other outside the show's venue.

Th 30,000 fans who were leaving the stadium, were obliged to look for cover as the police officers shot at gang members who had earlier strived for fans waiting for taxis.

Fortunately, this small (or big?) incident ended with no injuries.

DISCLAIMER: BLOG UPDATES

For personal reasons, reasons which are beyond my control, I haven't been able to update If No Will Listen for the last couple of days, leaving the blog post less.

My blog, this blog, is priceless to me, making me shred into tears when I can't take a Little time off to dedicate myself to it. As I'm writing this, I'm hurrying. Time is precious but also very slippy.

Please bear in mind that I'm making every effort I can to post, giving me no other choice than to make a promise: The posting will be back next week.

Love,

ChivasPuppet.

News Blast: Riot At Metallica's Gig Gets 120 Arrested

At Metallica's Concert in Santiago, Chile last week, almost 120 fans were arrested while trying to impregnate the concert without any tickets.

The incident took place whilst the metal band was playing and local police had to use pepper-spray to regain the fans composure, leading to the injury of an officer and to the arrest of 120 people.

The Police stated the fans' misdeeds included drug possession, drinking in public and disorderly behavior.

Are Metallica's lyrics inducing and prevailing their fans' minds too much?

Song Of The Day: "Chivas" - Kelly Clarkson (25/01/2010)

"The Texas native has one of the great voices in pop music, a powerful and versatile instrument that's steeped in the rhythm and blues and country music she grew up with in the South. If Mariah Carey's five-octave voice is the equivalent of an expensively bred poodle, then Clarkson's is a bloodhound: friendly, earthy, but fierce just the same." - Blender Magazine

'Guess I felt to fast
Guess I learned my lesson
So much for true love
I'll take the Chivas instead'

News Blast: And The Winner is... Black Eyed Peas?!?!

This weekend, the pop group, Black Eyed Peas, were victims of a slightly confusing situation that the NRJ Awards put them in.

The Black Eyed Peas were mistakenly announced as 'Best International Group', and immediately the organization corrected the misunderstanding, giving the award to Tokio Hotel.

Anyhow, BEP won an award for 'Best Song', which kept them from leaving the ceremony with their heads held low.

Wouldn't it had been better if they didn't correct the error, instead of giving it to the disgusting band, Tokio Hotel?

News Blast: Slash-Free Dress Code At Guns N' Roses Concert

Last week, at a Guns N' Roses concert, fans were obliged to dress down any Slash t-shirt or gear of any sort, including hats and banners.

While touring in Canada, Guns N' Roses' singer, Axl Rose, gave orders to the security crew, in order not to have any reminders what-so-ever of the ex-guitarist.

Unfortunately, Axl hasn't yet recovered from the frivolous fights both had, letting its pride and jealousy get in the way. Oh dear Axl, are you mad he has more fans than you ever will?

News Blast: New Scorpions Album To Prestige End Of Career

'Sting in Tail', to be release in March, is appointed as the last from the group, after 45 years and 21 albums of great music.

"While we were working on our album these past few months", stated the band in their official website, "We could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process, making the The Scorpion’s extraordinary career end on a high note"

Nevertheless, The Scorpions are still going on tour this summer, starting in their home country, Germany.

Now I fear: Is this just a strategical move to camouflage an unsuspected comeback?

News Blast: Re-Recording of 'We Are The World' to benefit Haiti victims.

Lionel Ritchie and music producer Quincy Jones are assembling acts to re-record 'We Are The World', originally by Michael Jackson.

Some names such as John Legend, Usher and Natalie Cole have by now been pointed out, but the main idea is to gather every 2010's Grammy nominee to record the song on the 1st of February.

The new song's version will be produced by Grammy director, Ken Ehrlich, with the preeminent goal of fund raising for Haiti Victims.

Others alike U2 and Justin Timberlake, have also announced new songs to benefit Haiti, emerging some competition. Is this going to turn into a twisting and revolving charity musical battle?

News Blast: Steven Tylers Needed

Steven Tyler, now getting a treatment for its painkiller addiction, has stepped aside the band, that publicly announced they were auditioning for new singers.

"We are going to start having some auditions, making some phone calls," Told Perry to QMI, "Hopefully, we'll have found a new singer by the summer, and Aerosmith will be able to go back out on the road".
However, Perry ensured that this didn't meant that Steven wouldn't return to the band.

Will Steven Tyler's absence take all the excitement and thrill from Aerosmith's Hard Rock turning it into and epic failure? Let's just hope they don't end up like Queen and INXS when these decided to hire new singers.

News Blast: U2 Start New Album

"We are working on a lot of new songs and some of them are really, really happy. We're convinced that we have something really special" , The Edge told EW.com, as they begin working on they're new, yet untitled, upcoming album.

"We are experimenting with a lot of different arrangements, and electronic is one of the things we are playing with but there are other songs that are very traditional, almost folk, " he continued. "In some ways, that's the thing we haven't figured out yet, is where this album is going to end up."

As for us, we can only wait and wonder. Is it going to be just a spin-off from the unsatisfying 'No Line In the Horizon' , or a folkish reinvention of their electrifying Rock?

Review: 'Master Of Puppets' - Metallica

Master of Puppets. Named by many as the most outstanding and extraordinary metal album ever recorded. Why? I'll tell you why.

Speed. Monstrosity. Power.

What an achievement, the greatest from Metallica, not yet evenly matched by any other. As an avid fan of everything that is called metal, I'm the first one to step up and say, this album clobbers and smashes any other thing out there. Fast epic riffs, tons of trashy heavy drums and endless mind-blowing solos, makes Master of Puppets THE metal album.
